The Pilgrim and Galaxy hop gin hails from the Pocketful of Stones distillery in Penzance, Cornwall. From their humble beginnings in the basement of a London pub to their distillery in Penzance, Cornwall, they used 2 copper pot stills to produce their range of spirits, of which Pilgrim and Galaxy hop gin is one. Firstly before I taste the gin, I have to mention the bottle! It's very striking with the name engraved around the neck and a beautiful blue and green background to the label with gold hops entwined across the label. A visual delight on your gin shelf! So to the gin....Reading from the website, they've taken the Tasmanian grown Galaxy hop that has peach and passionfruit flavour. This is paired with a local Pilgrim that has a spicey citrus character. They've also added a host of contemporary botanicals which definitely makes this a full-bodied ginny gin, in my opinion. I tried it first as recommended with a straightforward tonic and a slice of lemon. This produced a juniper-led taste with a fruitiness and a lovely citrus punch. Another recommended serve was with a ginger ale which I personally love as I feel a good ginger ale is seriously underrated as an alternative to tonic. This serve for me really brought out the spiceyness in the citrus promised from the Pilgrim. I decided to try a sicilian lemon tonic as another serve and it didn't disappoint. I used a fresh slice of orange with it although I normally use dehydrated fruits as rule I felt this gin could stand the fresh orange slice. Perfect!! Citrus, fruity and fully of flavour this really is a versatile gin to enjoy especially in these summer evenings. I am definitely looking forward to trying more of their range.

It was like fate finding this gin as this week we are visiting Cornwall.
