I love gin, I love surprises, and I love things that come in neat little packages. Imagine my delight when I received this secret garden subscription box. It was all 3 in 1. The navy-colored outer sleeve on the box gives an opulent feeling, and when I opened the box, I was greeted by a giant bottle of spring gin, a smaller bottle of 55 gin, a can of light tonic (my favorite), and some hand-picked petals to garnish. I first tried the spring gin, and it’s not quite to my taste, but it’s undoubtedly not undrinkable. Today, I tried batch 55 gin, and oh, how I wish that bottle were the bigger one. I’ve no idea what it is, I’d love to know, but it’s delicious. Feels floral and slightly citrusy, but what do I know? I will be trying the spring gin with other tonics to see if I can find its perfect match for me. I’ve never tried petals in a drink before (I tried whole mini rosebuds and lavender, but that la another story). I was pleasantly surprised by the petals, and they made the drink more aesthetically pleasing. Felt like I was somewhere posh and not in my back garden. Luckily the weather was nice that day, lol. I would consider a regular subscription to the secret garden gin club as I’m impressed by the whole experience, from the packaging to the bottle labels to the actual gin. Well done, Secret Garden, you’ve smashed it!
