Filoli was built for Mr. and Mrs. William Bowers Bourn II, prominent San Franciscans, whose chief source of wealth was the Empire Gold Mine in Grass Valley, California. There’s a warm, wonderful glow emanating from the otherwise dark night, as thousands of lights illuminate Woodside’s Filoli Historic House and Garden this holiday season.
But at this time of year, it’s all about the lights — 156,000 of them — plus holiday teas, Decadence Nights, Santa Saturdays and more. The country estate has extended its holiday season with daily and Thursday-Sunday nighttime visits through the end of the year, allowing an estimated 35,000 visitors to enjoy the festive home and bedazzled grounds. And you are invited too!
This festive season you're invited for their Santa Saturdays! Santa’s visiting Filoli and his sleigh is filled with fun for the whole family!
