Bun House showcases an underrepresented delicacy of Cantonese cuisine with their light, steamed buns filled with the likes of beef brisket, cumin-spiked lamb, char siu pork and the cult favorite sweet custard bun and also reflects their importance as the centre of socialising and the late night lifestyle.
From the decor to the music, which is a mixture of sixties Hong Kong and Singaporean psychedelic/surf/go go style, Bun House transports you to the world of Hong Kong with the tea room downstairs mimicking the Chinese speakeasy-style cocktail den. The design is decidedly colonial Hong Kong inspired with tile, dark wood and bamboo.
