SHRIMP DADDY at Smorgasburg

Today we went to Smorgasburg at The Row in DTLA, as we often do each Sunday. It’s a favorite of ours where we can try any and all cuisines in one place by way of 100’s of Food trucks and vendors!

This time we were craving Hawaiian and Shrimp Daddy is famous at Smorgasburg for their shrimp boats. Inside a gutter pineapple is their delicious sweet and spicy shrimp that is cooked to perfection. It is recommended to eat the shell head to tail like Hawaiian locals do. It’s delicious, let me tell you. The pineapple is also filled with rice and macaroni salad as you would get with a regular lunch plate on Hawaii and we ate every bite. 10/10, would absolutely order this again! Next to Shrimp Daddy, make sure you try their other booths: Sip Matcha, and Chichi Dango. Sip matcha is ceremonial grade matcha over ice and I highly recommend their Aloe matcha. It’s very refreshing, not too sweet, and you can sip the aloe pulp which I love. Chichi Dango is a mix of ice cream and shave ice topped with mocha balls. I love this dessert and highly recommend the coconut, which is creamy and topped with coconut flakes. Mixed with the mochi bites, it’s the ideal summer dessert.
