It’s in the eye of the beholder, reflecting a free-spirited nature, not confined to rules or limitations. Boho restaurant reflects this ethic of creativity, and seeking collective harmony. This is where casual dining meets sophistication with no frills — simplicity and complexity in one. Quality ingredients, preparation with love and care. We started our evening with a Boho Grapefruit Guzzler which was a light and fruity cocktail with slight bitterness, which I absolutely loved plus some Californian red wine.
For starters, we shared slightly spicy salmon tartare with baby coriander leaves and onions, plus sour cream and avo purée, with a hot dish of spicy shishito with Boursin which provided perfect contrasting flavours.
We were read out the specials, and decided to order both - I had beautiful smoked duck, parsnip crisps, creamy duck liver mousse and potato purée which was absolutely heavenly. My partner enjoyed perfectly cooked steak, medium rare with a nice grilled flavour with peppercorn sauce and mushrooms, along with homemade fries and a blue cheese sauce. This was by far the best steak either of us had tried and it was a premium beef rib eye cut.
We had been recommended a mellow and slightly sweet Cabernet Sauvignon by our server which we really enjoyed. We finished the evening with some light desserts; a deconstructed pavlova with golden peaches, raspberries and passion fruit and a Napoleon tart with blackberries and raspberry purée.
Our servers were able to make us feel very welcome and well looked after, and the food was to die for - will be coming back when I’m next in SF!
