This might just be London’s hottest addition to the rooftop scene. Located on the 12th floor of Tower Hill’s Hilton hotel, the Savage Garden presents a stylish indoor cocktail lounge with two additional terraces with stunning views of the city skyline including Tower Bridge and the Shard. The terraces will make for a perfect sun trap in those warmer months, but the versatile nature of the retractable roof means that it’s a hot spot all year round.
The cocktail menu is lively and exciting offering something for everyone with those added special touches. My favourites were the ‘horny beast’ - an interesting blend of pink gin, coconut rum, almond, lime, strawberry and cinnamon soda topped beautifully with a burnt caramel biscuit and the ‘white lady’ a refreshing mix of gin, cointreau, pine syrup and zesty lemon juice- a tasty palate cleanser. 🍋
Food options are selected to lightly compliment cocktails and include several very insta worthy choices. In particular, the citrus buttermilk chicken sliders- your posh mini burgers were delightful and satisfying, the burratina was heavenly creamy and accompanied by an array of colourful and sweet tomatoes. I loved how pretty my honey miso aubergine burger was, encompassed within a pink burger bun and as for the coconut beef short ribs, my date barely spoke or breathed for the approximate 5 minutes he took to devour the generous portion. It quite literally fell off the bone. Finally, dessert included a sweet and playful selection of injectable doughnuts- syringes at the ready!
This was a very enjoyable evening and a brilliant find for future occasions including chilled sunny afternoons or elegant and tasteful evenings.
Savage Garden is introducing a Savagely Late Happy Hour session every Monday-Friday from 11 pm-1 am on all classic cocktails.
