You might be missing your local coffee shop and favourite barista but thanks to Carnival Roasters, you can now enjoy quality coffee from the comfort of your sofa.
This family-run business has its roots in Medellin, Colombia where they have been growing and producing coffee for decades. Today their mission is to bring to you quality, Eco-friendly coffee which they roast in their garden workshop in South-East London and deliver straight to your home.
The coffee comes in recyclable pouches which are also resealable and easy to store. I love the bold designs and wonderful colours on the packaging. All coffees come in either whole beans or espresso grind.
I tested two of their coffees: Luz Dary and Midnight Moon, both in espresso grind.
Luz Dary is a high-toned, rich, full body coffee with tasting notes of Caramel, Mandarin oranges and Hazelnuts. I like my coffee dark and strong so this was really heaven in a cup for me, the slightly sweet aroma takes away any bitterness so I didn’t need to add milk.
Midnight Moon is produced in Uganda. It’s a super fine, fruit-toned coffee with hints of Apple, Kiwi and Caramel so you know from the first sip you are drinking real coffee. It delivers a delicate, smooth brew with a lovely sweet aroma which makes it really easy on the palette. Maybe a little too light for those Monday mornings when you need that extra caffeine kick but definitely ideal for a lazy Sunday with the morning paper and breakfast in bed.
