I’ve got to be honest, I’m fully aware that these kits are PROBABLY more designed with families and littluns’ in mind, but I’ve wanted one since I first saw them advertised. So, I am ridiculously happy that I managed to nab a kit to review for Hype Experiences.
Let me preface this by saying that Doughnut Time are my favourite doughnuts in London. It’s been like three years, and I still stand by the fact that their ‘Butter Nut’ doughnut is the best one I’ve ever had in my life. And that’s saying something considering I’m usually a filled doughnut kinda gal.
With some of the last of my uni assessments over - and very much in need of some fun, my partner & I decided we’d do some doughnut decorating! (and eating!). I mean, it’s the perfect lockdown activity!
I picked the Vegan Favourites Kit ( Vg Biscoff one also available!), which comes with everything to make two ‘Sia Later’ and two ‘Ice Ice Bae Bae’ ring doughnuts – (which I’d never had before). That includes two types of icing, cookie dough, biscuit pieces, a chocolate drizzle, etc. However, they have a few kits to choose from ( Vg and non-Vg), with different levels of ‘creative ability’ acquired 😝.
It arrived on a VERY warm morning, so I popped everything in the fridge to firm up again and later that day – DOUGHNUT TIME BABY!
The pack handily comes with a how-to sheet, as well. Now I don’t think doughnut decorating is in our future just yet – but it was genuinely fun to get to decorating these bad boys. We may have gone a little overboard with the chocolate drizzle, but... I mean, we had to use it all right?! 😉
Oh, and we definitely enjoyed eating them. The Ice Ice Bae Bae was my favourite, with the delicious cookie dough pieces and soft icing, but I wouldn’t say no to another Sia Later in the future <3
We actually kept them in the fridge for a further two days, nibbling away at them throughout the day so that they wouldn’t be gone too quickly- now the box is empty, and I’m sad!
