Located in the heart of old town Pasadena is the most enchanted little tea shop, Chado Tea Room. Every moment from the time we walked up to our very last sip of tea was magical.
We were greeted by our server Sam (masked up and ready to go) and seated immediately in their newly expanded outdoor seating. Each table was spaced apart more than 6ft and although there were other diners there, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! Despite being located on a busy street, the atmosphere was so peaceful and pleasant. They had soft music playing to set the mood, beautiful teacups already on the table, and for a moment I completely forgot I was in the middle of busy LA.
We were brought some tomato soup and iced tea in flutes to start. The soup was delicious and the tea was floral, sweet, and so refreshing on a hot day. The selections of tea is endless. I'm a chai gal myself, so the second I saw "coconut chai" on the menu I was sold! Sam poured our tea out of the CUTEST elephant teapot I've ever seen! I couldn't stop gasping at how precious everything was.
We ordered the Celebration Afternoon Tea Service tower which included an assortment of sandwiches, scones, and cookies. EVERY. SANDWICH. WAS. AMAZING!! Cucumber is one of the few things I cannot force myself to eat, but the cucumber sandwich had me reaching for more. I couldn't believe it!
Overall it was an incredible experience. All of the necessary precautions were taken to make our visit feel totally safe. Delicious food, stupendous tea, cute atmosphere - what else could you need? I'm already planning to have my next birthday here!
