Little Nan's Bar

Little Nan's bar is the thing dreams are made of, the kind of kitsch bar that reminds you of your nana's kitchen. Complete with furniture from years past and the sorts of decorations long forgotten.

Tristan opened the bar in 2013, in the back room of his favourite nightclub, just off Deptford Highsteet. Using his little nan Jojo's furniture and lots of her old recipes a cocktail bar was born. Despite originally being set to be a beer and ale focused bar, the teapot cocktails took over and now Little Nan's boasts over eighty five cocktails aptly named after your favourite television superheroes. Unfortunately England is currently facing a strange festive period in which bar favourites may be impossible to get to, so why not let Little Nan's come to you? It seems like an obvious solution to brighten up the dark cold months and a joyous gift to send friends and loved ones. Each box comes wrapped in leopard print paper and is themed after a British Great. I was lucky enough to sample the King Del Boy Christmas Special which includes a 750ml bottle of posh Prosecco, a 140ml Vodka, 140ml Limoncello, 140ml Lemon Sherbet Vodka, 1 Litre Tonic water and 220ml Little Nan’s Lemon Juice. The alcohol (bar the prosecco) arrives in glass jars and is labelled with colour coded gems for easy mixing. I had a hand at mixing my very own Del Boy inspired lemon sherbet fizz. There was enough for twelve drinks or four reasonably sized adult people to get through a cold lock down night. This kit also included sweets, a santa hat, pop tarts, those Christmas cracker toys that we all know and love, festive masks, random gems, cocktail umbrellas and my personal favourite: Christmas tree glasses. It really is the most exciting box of treats and I can't wait to purchase a few for the family members that I probably won't be able to spend time with this year. That way we can reminisce over video chat and raise a glass to surviving the weirdest year yet! Now, that is something we can be proud of ourselves for achieving and definitely something I can drink to.
