Best way to celebrate the end of lockdown!

Wow, what an incredible and unique experience! Tucked away in a small garden of a yellow door house of a quiet residential street in Dalston, Aidan took us on a food journey through the local produce of Hackney.

We were welcomed with a cocktail on arrival, containing Haggerston produced spirits from the 58 Gin distillery, followed by a seven course lunch all made from ingredients growing or sourced in the borough of Hackney, where Aidan was born and bred. My absolute highlights on the menu were the green beans with pickled shallots from the garden, pangrattato and miso mayonnaise and the main course: Duck breast with pumpkin, pistachios and Stoke Newington cherries. Everything from the weather (what a beautiful Saturday afternoon!), the location, the people, Aidan's hospitality and of course the food was perfect! It was great to get to know new people that share the same passion for food. We spent hours talking about the different flavours and how much local produce is being underestimated. Aidan's environmentally friendly and sustainable approach to cooking makes the experience even more special. When he cooks he tries to extract the most out of every ingredient to create the least waste possible. On top of that Aidan also gives back to the community. 50p from every ticket sale for the social dining experience are donated to Hackey-based charities such as the Hackney food Bank, At. Joseph's Hospice and EcoActive. Can only highly recommend this experience to anyone. From May 17th the experience will move back indoors and to the evening.
