Tasty and fun afternoon tea experience for all the family
I've been wanting to take my daughter out for afternoon tea with me for ages but we've never managed it due to lockdown, so this was the perfect opportunity to recreate one at home.
My daughter is Peppa Pig obsessed so a kids afternoon tea themed entirely around Peppa couldn't have been more perfect. Brigits Bakery run their well known Peppa Pig London bus tours and the menu for the kids afternoon tea is the same as you get on the bus. Her face absolutely lit up when she saw her lunch! What three year old isn't going to love a lunch full of cakes and Peppa Pig biscuits! Here's the menu: Freshly Prepared Savouries Freddy Fox’s Egg & Cress finger sandwich Mandy Mouse’s Cheddar Cheese finger sandwich Grandpa Pig’s Chicken & Tomato burger bun Madame Gazelle’s Veggie Crudité & Breadsticks with hummus Daddy Pig’s Pizza mini margherita Assortment of mini Homemade Cakes & Tarts Peppa Pig’s Cookie Shortbread Suzy Sheep’s Chocolate Truffle Sprinkled with confetti Mummy Pig’s Strawberry Macaron with strawberry flavoured vanilla butter cream George’s Seasonal Fruit Tart with crème pâtissière Rebecca Rabbit’s Carrot Cupcake with a cream cheese topping Granny Pig’s Mini Scone with jam and clotted cream We also ordered the Classic Afternoon Tea for me and my husband, so we could all enjoy it as a family treat together. Ours was incredibly tasty and huge. We had so much left over, so were enjoying cakes for days! We loved the variety in the different types of savoury options which were all delicious and the cakes were to die for! Here's the menu for ours: Freshly Prepared Savouries Pastrami with slice of gherkin burger with tomato bread and mustard and mayo sauce Pretzel with chives, cream cheese and fresh salmon Ham and cheese finger sandwich Cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwich Feta cheese with peppers & sun dried tomatoes savoury muffin Assortment of mini Homemade Cakes & Tarts Lemon tart with meringue Red choux with vanilla creme patissiere and raspberry coulis Chocolate cupcake Sable breton with cream cheese Plain, freshly baked scone with clotted cream and jam If you'd like to order one of these fab afternoon teas for yourself they cost: £24.50 per person for food, orange juice & ceramic tea mug (or £19 food only) £25 per person for the Peppa Pig delivery, Peppa Pig mugs and activity books included You only need to give 24 hours notice to book too and it's available 7 days a week. If you like the sound of these afternoon teas but don't fancy it at home, then you can also enjoy them on the Brigit Bakery's Afternoon Tea Bus or in their Covent Garden café, both reopening on 17th May.
