London's Best Eclairs
There is no doubt that the Michelin star-experienced pastry chef Joakim Prat created one of the most eye-catching and drool worthy eclairs in London, notable for their fabulous fillings and extravagant toppings.
The modern French patisserie Maitre Choux is the first and only choux pastry specialist patisserie in the world, with a three Michelin star chef baking their colourful and vibrant eclairs, choux and chouquettes. Everything is prepared daily to the finest and most delightful standard, from eclairs, choux and chouquettes. I went to the branch at Kings road, Chelsea but they have shops across London in South Kensington, Soho and also in Bicester Village. This visit was kindly arranged by Hype experiences and we get to try their limited edition summer eclairs and Choux. We tried, - Raspberry Eclair + Passion Fruit Meringue Eclair - Raspberry Choux + Pistachio Choux The word eclair means ‘Flash of lightening’ in French which apparently is a reference to how quickly they are eaten, because they are gone in a flash. These eclairs are way too pretty to eat that quickly! But I ate them all after taking 100s of pictures! They had just the right level of sweetness without being too heavy either. Where do I start? The eclairs were crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside and the filling is delectable. Whether you love Rasberry or not, these were so good. They are filled with Willamette raspberry cremeux but didn't have a very intense Raspberry flavour, which I honestly didn't mind at all! Super creamy and just overall savoured every bite. My favourite out of the two was definitely the passion fruit one. They were so irresistible! If you think of an eclair this has everything you want and more. Super smooth cream, rich ingredients used, topped with dried passion fruits for some added texture and gold dust! Got the pistachio choux and Raspberry choux to share as well. The choux pastry was crusty yet light, and the fillings were smooth and rich in their respective flavours. The shop was so pretty, the walls were covered in pink flowers, perfect for the gram!
