Brilliant Brigit’s Bumpy Bus

I have always wanted to experience afternoon tea on a London Bus and I was very fortunate to be given the chance to take this tour as a sponsored PR visit arranged by Hype experiences and Brigit's Bakery London.

We caught the bus in Northumberland Ave, near Trafalgar Square (note some departures are from Victoria coach station). The bus itself is a refurbished, historic, 1960’s Routemaster bus that has been turned into a very attractive tea shop on wheels. It is most definitely an eye catcher! Each time we stopped, onlookers were taking photos and waving. This is the perfect experience if you love sightseeing and love afternoon tea. The bus tour passes many London landmarks including: Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, Harrods & London’s main museums. There is a recorded commentary and one can also buy a souvenir guide book that is very useful if you didn’t manage to hear all the commentary. The tour takes about 90minutes, which if you are a tourist is quite a good use of time as one can see quite a bit of London whilst enjoying a typical English afternoon tea. When we arrived at the bus stop, we were greeted warmly by a uniformed attendant who directed us to our pre-assigned table. We sat upstairs which gave us a great view. The setting really is delightful. We had plenty of room for the two of us. You can see more pictures of the afternoon tea bus and a video posted in my Instagram @livinginruwiana under reels tab. The table was set with a beautiful tiered tray of assorted finger sandwiches and the top with beautiful assorted tortes & pastries. The staff were super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was all really tasty and the tea was served in cute cups with lids to avoid spillages. We were both full before we had managed to finish and we were given little takeaway boxes so we didn't lose out. Lots of little details made it very practical but also enjoyable. Be it for a celebration or just a well earned treat, I can't recommend this trip enough!! You get to hit several birds with one stone: double-decker bus ride, guided tour of London's landmarks and afternoon high tea! A really fun experience which we would definitely do again.
