Alcotraz - an immersive experience!
The Alcotraz experience is located in Shoreditch and is an immersive experience that takes guests into an American-style prison where you are a prisoner who gets to interact with other inmates and the warden. You are asked to 'smuggle' in a bottle of alcohol and before you enter the prison an inmate helps you to hide your bottle of alcohol and gives you your prison uniform which you are then asked to put on when you are led to your cell.
Once you enter your cell, you are given a card to fill out with your prisoner details and this is when the immersive experience begins. The actors get involved and create a backstory for you to get involved in. Each prison cell meets the warden separately where you have to explain your crime and justify why you should be released. You also meet one of the inmates who takes you into a the solitary confinement cell which is awesome! And while all this is taking place, the bar staff (who are also dressed in prison uniforms) make you bespoke cocktails using the spirit you brought in with you. They also ask you how you like your drinks and if you have any particular favourite tastes or allergies so they can make the right cocktails to suit your tastes! All the cocktails we had were SO good and at the end of the experience you get given back your bottle of spirit if there is any left over so noting goes to waste which is great! I definitely recommend this experience, especially going in bigger groups as I think it could be so much more fun the more of you there are! This would definitely be great for a party and I would say about 20-25 people could probably fit into one session! Highly recommend giving this a go especially if you have never tried in immersive experience before!
