Boys n Berry Brunch

Brunching, it’s an institution. It may not be the most important meal of the day, but it’s definitely the best and what better than to check out Boys n Berry in Parsons Green. A quick 5 min walk from the tube to the High Street and you're at their cute but deceptively spacious restaurant which serves up both an All Day menu and Brunch menu.

I was here for their enticing brunch offering and as I had a busy weekend ahead of me, I was excited to check out what they had and had my appetite ready. Now first of all, as a dog owner, Boys n Berry already gained a big tick as they were completely accommodating to little furry friends and did not have a problem for me to bring little Sammy along with me. More and more restaurants are opening up to dog owners after lockdown pet ownership and Boys n Berry made me and Sam feel super welcome. Immediately on entry the vibe is a relaxed oasis with neatly spaced tables. We took a seat and the brunch menu was brought to us by the super smiley waitress. The menu has a good variety of options including whether you're in for the classic pancakes (you can't beat a pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup) or the much-loved avocado and eggs (the staple), or want something a little different (truffle and parmesan scrambled eggs … wow) there is something for everyone including a few options for dietary restrictions. They also serve up a selection of salads including the likes of Cesar and Quinoa + Chicken and a number of wraps including a delightful sounding Coconut Chicken one. As we like sweet and savoury we went for a pancake stack to share, served up with crispy bacon and sweet grade A maple syrup and a couple of savoury dishes too. The savoury included the Avocado Smoked Salmon, a soft poached egg on creamy avocado with chives on sourdough and the Chorizo baked eggs, a couple of soft baked eggs in spicy tomato sauce and spinach with sourdough. The dishes were quick to arrive and hot. The eggs did not disappoint and were perfectly ooozy and avocado creamy and soft. We really enjoyed that the bread was a lovely slice of quality sourdough with toasty flavour. The pancakes were soft, sweet and fluffy complimented by the crispy bacon slices. The addition of the grade A maple syrup was a sweet sensation. The star of the show however was the chorizo baked eggs. Now this is a dish I would like to re-create as it was a delicious mix of tomato, spinach and smoky chorizo baked in the oven with 2 softly cooked eggs suspended in the action. It was truly superb, bags of flavour and a good sized portion to make you very satisfied. Served with the crispy sourdough it was definitely a great choice!! The range of drinks and freshly squeezed juices are equally delicious. We chose the Sweet Green (Kale, Cucumber, Apple Lime and Mint) and the Apple Carrot and Orange. Both bursting with fresh flavour and exciting mix of ingredients. The freshness was appreciated with the strong tastes of the chorizo and sweet pancakes. Coffee was tasty and roasty and all were served in lovely ceramics. I love a neatly presented brunch! ;) Overall a superbly great place for brunch! The staff were really helpful, friendly and nice as well, I would definitely recommend and will be back for those truffle eggs next time!
