It was such an amazing experience attending Japan Week Festival VIP Launch Party at Lexus Takumi Townhouse.
The event turned out very busy but the organisation was on the highest level throughout the night. Everyone was very welcoming, staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was kindly provided by YO!. It was a canapé-style menu and I loved trying some Japanese flavour combinations that were new to me. My favourites were Seared Coriander Tuna & Mango Salsa and Chocolate Miso Pots with Vanilla Mascarpone. Some other highlights of the evening were: Cocktail station from BBC Spirits and Merchants Heart. We had the most delicious Hibiscus cocktails with Etsu gin. Sake tasting from KANPAI. Brand representative spend good 20 minutes talking to me, explaining all the technicalities of Sake culture. I think it’s my favourite alcoholic drink now. And, of course, mesmerising coffee brewing, using Japanese techniques from UESHIMA. It was a very pleasant surprise how smooth was the coffee, with lower acidities and bolder flavours. Everyone who worked at the event had so much passion about their culture and the products they represent. It was an honour to get to know Japan from these people. The venue was beautifully decorated and everyone seemed to have the best time. Last but not least, it was so much fun listening to Japanese drums and getting your name written with Japanese letters. I had a lot of souvenirs to take home, including the goodie bag that contained reusable chopsticks, beer and glass set from Kirin Ichiban and much more. Thank you Hype Experiences for organising our Media visit. And thanks to all the sponsors for making this event happen.
