Get Me To This Greek!
We were invited to spend a lovely evening at The Life Goddess, a romantic date night spot located in foodie hot-spot Kingly Court in Soho. Specialising in traditional Greek cuisine, the Life Goddess utilizes traditional cooking methods to serve up a meal fit for the modern-day Goddess (we’re sure even Demeter would have approved!).
The menu is extensive and is made up of cold and hot appetizers, traditional Greek street food & a great selection of main dishes. There is also an extensive wine & cocktail list. We decided to try the rum punch & the Cranberry Zombie, neither of which lacked in alcohol, and for £10 each, they were better than a lot of cocktails we’ve had at some really top bars. The barman clearly knows their stuff! In terms of food, we opted for the following dishes: 🇬🇷 hummus with garlic/plain pita - the hummus was definitely the best we’ve had and the pita was fresh from the oven. 🇬🇷 feta fondue - this dish is incredible and was the standout dish for us! We weren’t too sure what to expect but the feta, topped with a slightly tangy tomato relish was the perfect combination. 🇬🇷 lamb souvlaki - two huge lamb skewers served with perfectly cooked potatoes and more pita! 🇬🇷 Vegetarian burger - a STACKED burger of talagani cheese, mushrooms, and peppers which was packed full of flavour. 🇬🇷 chocolate mosaic - a platter of chocolate biscuit, refrigerator slices, garnished with raspberries & blackberries which perfectly rounded off the evening. Overall we were really impressed with the restaurant which is a hugely popular little venue, a constant stream of diners filed through the door and it’s no wonder why… the food can immediately transport you back to a pre-covid world of dinners at a Greek taverna on a beautiful island! We’ll be back!
