Butcombe Goram IPA

As a lover of IPA but wishing to cut down my alcohol content I was really keen to try this 0.5% from the Butcombe Distillery.

Usually, the low alcohol beers can be low in flavor and high in fizz, but this was really well balanced. A good hoppy taste with citrus undertones. Based in Bristol the breweries website states "Bristol born and made to stand out, Butcombe Brewing Co. began life at a time of cultural, social and political change, crafting beer before ‘craft beer’ was even a thing", so they should be very well placed to create a full flavor beer with just a tiny bit of alcohol. Researching the beer on their website I found their description met with my own findings "Based on our Goram IPA recipe, Goram IPA Zero is an easy-to-drink and refreshing ale made with a punchy blend of English, USA, and New Zealand hops which balance stone fruit, citrus, and bitter notes. With all the aroma, taste, and flavor of a normal IPA but with none of the alcohol, it’s the perfect beer for those looking for a non-alcoholic drink. Our Goram IPA Zero bottles are suitable for vegans." This is a really interesting sector and perfect for those of us who can't stand to drink sweet fizzy drinks in the pub. It really does offer a genuine alternative and one where you feel you are still getting the drinking vibe in a pub or at home with your friends. Highly recommended.
