Authentic Greek In Soho’s Heart
Thinking back to last week's visit at this gem of a find within Soho’s Kingly Court serving up superb Mediterranean Greek flavours using high-quality ingredients and home-style cooking.
Their perfectly formed menu offers something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a mild., spicy, sweet, or something a little different, this is the place for you. The little restaurant is within Kingly Court a bustling eating destination in the ‘Carnaby’ quarter that is located close to London’s Regent St and alongside Carnaby St, the 60s fashion and music street. It is like a historic courtyard with wooden staircases and restaurants perched on its multi-levels. The vibes of the restaurant are relaxed dining mezze style and the food being served are bursting with amazing flavours that were beautifully presented! The wine selection was vast and delicious. When seated., we ordered a red that was bursting with blackberries and blackcurrant undertones that was aired and flavoursome! Food highlights were the fresh calamari and roasted potatoes which were spectacularly presented in their own edible clamshell and dressed with edible flowers on creamy fresh tzatziki. It was art on a plate that was delicious to boot! Next up is the slow-cooked lamb shank, expertly cooked that just fell off the bone, succulently meaty in flavour atop a fresh bed of seasonal steamed vegetables. The selection of mezze dishes included fresh succulent king prawns in a tomato feta sauce., juicy beef koftas with a tomato sauce and an oh so creamy vegetable risotto made fresh in house with fresh vegetables. All the dishes are made with the freshest ingredients sourced using vegetables ripened under Greek sunlight and meat and poultry reared by local farmers. The fish is sourced using sustainable traditional environmental friendly methods. A superb little black book restaurant in the heart of Soho! The owners are mindful of where the ingredients are sourced and look to give a hearty authentic Greek dining experience that is a little different. Overall I would give a thumbs up for the cute aesthetic venue and delicious menu. Will be definitely back to try out more dishes and work my way through that wine list! Great stuff!
