Bring On The Biggar Gin

I was excited to receive this fantastic package. When I saw it on HYPE, I knew I had to have it, and thankfully I was quick enough at adding it to my basket. Phew! It arrived beautifully packaged with a 70cl Original Gin bottle, two cute branded tumblers, and a handwritten note.

Biggar Gin is a family-run business established in 2018 by two brothers, Stuart and Euan McVicar, in the market town of Biggar, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Biggar is a small picturesque town that nestles among rolling hills and has views of Tinto Hill, the highest hill in South Lanarkshire at 711 meters. Biggar Original Gin has 11 botanicals, including juniper, cassia bark, coriander seeds, rowan berries, pink peppercorn, nettles, cardamom, orange, lemon, rosehip, and lavender. I tried three serves in total, numerous G&T's as they were very moreish, a Negroni and a Gimlet. The perfect serve is 50ml Biggar Gin, plenty of ice, topped with tonic, and garnished with orange peel. I only had freshly frozen orange wheels available, which worked perfectly. It's such a smooth-tasting gin with citrus notes and finishes with subtle lavender. My Negroni had 50ml Biggar Gin, 50ml Campari, 50ml Martini Rosso, lots of ice, and a freshly frozen orange wheel. It's a simple Negroni recipe that certainly gives some punch. The Gimlet was made with 50ml Biggar Gin, lime cordial, a squeeze of fresh lime, and a dash of sugar syrup. All ingredients were shaken with ice and served in a cute little glass with a slice of air-dried lime for garnish. I love the cute and sturdy branded tumbler glasses. They are so lovely to drink from and made the drinks taste even more awesome. Biggar Gin is one to look out for and would make any gin collection compete.
