What a beautiful night to share a plentiful meal with my good friend who met me in Miami for a couple of days! We had dinner at 7 Spices, and it was perfection, from our thorough and attentive server to the presentation & quality of the food and the hookah!
First, we ordered the Mediterranean sampler, the red octopus, the mixed grill, pistachio surprise, and a pineapple head & blueberry flavored hookah with some drinks — enjoying its’ decadence in the lounge area, right outside on the strip of shops and restaurants, as we people watched & took in the drizzle of the rain. Our server brought out a menu, and we made our selections! Shortly after, he brought each dish out & set it on the table one by one. Luckily we had two tables. We didn’t want to ruin the presentation, but we had to dig in! I was stunned by the red octopus entree because I’ve never seen it on a Mediterranean menu, and I’m from Michigan. We have Mediterranean restaurants everywhere in the Metro Detroit area. It was cooked to perfection, soft and tender and savory clean! The Mediterranean Sampler was a must! You get a little bit of everything: hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, falafel, warak enab & pita bread — including pickled olives, cucumbers, radish, and extra lemon wedges! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Just an outstanding-looking group of necessary flavors on one platter. The Mixed Grill was also heaven! Just the perfect amount of meats that can feed more than two if you get other items! This beautiful platter came with two chicken and two beef grilled skewers, plus more hummus, pita, rice, fries, and garlic aioli (which is always the cherry on top)! Seriously such a fantastic time! We kept going and shared the Pistachio Surprise! Baklava can be a bit heavy on the honey for me, and while I prefer less sweet desserts, there are times I need my sweets on 100! However, baklava paired with vanilla ice cream is a nice balance! I must go back to try the lava cake & ice cream!! Lastly, we ordered a couple of drinks! I had a frozen lychee drink, and I don’t recall what they were called, but they were so good! And, we can’t forget the hookah itself, which added to the whole ambiance and experience. Hookah is such a chill thing to do in general & the flavors of pineapple and blueberry were just delicious. It lasted us a whole dinner session, and we wanted more! I can’t even play up this experience because everyone & everything was just unique! I recommend grabbing a table or lounging outside for perfectly chill vibes with great food, drinks, hookah, and service. Yum! I’ll def be back!!
