Three Cheers for Three Spirits

Over the last year, I’ve been exploring the many different non-alcoholic spirits from far and wide. Yet, one thing that I’ve come across frequently is lack of flavor or anything that replicates the palate sensations when you are enjoying an non-alcoholic alternative.

Previous non-alcoholic spirits, I’ve often found similar to a weak squash cordial. Despite many failed attempts of finding something meets my expectations, I’ve continued my quest, whilst I’ve frequently began to believe that it’s not out there. Three Spirits was founded in London in 2018 by a blend of plant scientists, world-class bartenders, hedonists, herbalists, and artists so that they were able to create all of the greatness of a spirit without the repercussions of the alcohol. Nightcap- The Dream Maker Warming, sweet fruity, and caramelized brown sugar and woody notes greets your nose. Whilst sipping on this, it gently oozes and melts down your throat like honey with the addition of warming ginger and turmeric that replicate some of the alcoholic alternatives to this spirit. Created using tree saps, aromatic plants as well as lemon balm, ashwagandha, and vanilla leave for a truly relaxed feeling. You may not want to use this as a nightcap, but you could also add it as an addition to an after-work Tipple to calm you from a stressful day. Livener -The Party Starter Fresh, fiery, and sweet. A gentle balance of watermelon and guava delves your palate deep whilst the ginger, ginseng, and apple cider gives it that fiery edge. Leaving a lingering dry finish and hibiscus notes. Served with tonic and a slice of grapefruit gives me all of those summer vibes of an Aperol spritz. Social Elixir - The Mood Booster Sweet caramelized apple springs to mind on the nose with a gentle touch of dried herbs to balance the sweetness. Full-bodied and like a sweet dessert wine with depths of cacao Bean and apple. Mixed with ginger spice soda and an orange slice allows for a bittersweet and gentle warm. I cannot pick a favorite from three. They’ll all fantastic in their own way.
