I was very excited to receive this trio especially given the story of Agnes Arber is an inspiring one.
In honour of her contribution to science, on 24 May 1948 Agnes Arber, a botanical historian, was the first female recipient of The Gold Medal of the Linnean Society of London and was also the first female botanist to be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society. Arber Gin was created in appreciation and to honour Agnes Arber’s dedication to discovering the natural world. Launched in 2017 and distilled in the West Midlands at Langley Distillery, this Gin is pot stilled with nine botanicals; Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Cassia, Iris, Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit and Liquorice As a great lover of a Citrus forward Gin, the Agnes Arber Original is clean and refreshing with citrus and spicy notes. I enjoyed the recommended serve which has zesty notes. It is paired with a Mediterranean tonic and garnished with a wedge of grapefruit. The Agnes Arber Rhubarb contains the nine botanicals in the original gin and is infused with Rhubarb after distillation. It has a beautiful pink hue, a fruity aroma and a slightly sweet Rhubarb flavour. I tried the recommended serve which is paired with ginger ale and garnished with a wheel of grapefruit. It is a lovely combination and adds spice to the tartness of the Rhubarb. The Agnes Arber Pineapple adds a tropical flavour to the range. The original is infused with pineapple and a little mango and has a natural sweetness. Upon opening the bottle, It has a lovely pineapple aroma with a tropical sweetness I tried the recommended serve which is paired with ginger ale and a squeeze of lime, which combines tropical fruitiness with spiciness. As a Gin lover, there is nothing more appealing than having a beautiful bottle on the Gin shelf and these three bottles are just stunning. With each distinct colour, white, red and yellow, they really stand out and it is easy to differentiate between the three types of Gins with distinctive labels. A beautiful range with this great trio!
