Knowing full well that these bottles were highly sought after from Hype Experiences, I knew that there might have been a bit of a wait for delivery. Well, I can tell you, it was certainly worth it!
Wow, what a superb delivery to receive. Not only did I get three bottles of gin, but I also got a lovely shaped branded glass, perfect for sipping. The trio consisted of a premium gin, a rhubarb gin, and a pineapple gin, which all come in at 41.6% ABV and have beautiful striking bottles. The illustrations on the front of each bottle are a nod to Agnes Arber and the books she had published in botany and philosophy. Agnes Arber was the first woman to receive the gold medal from the Linnean Society, a famous institution dedicated to the study of natural history. Each bottle has the nine botanicals that makeup Agnes Arber premium gin and then the added rhubarb or pineapple depending on the expression. Botanicals include juniper, coriander, cassia bark, angelica root, liquorice, lemon, orange and iris. The trouble with receiving three fabulous bottles led to one question …’Which one I was going to try first?’ I tried a straight-up gin and tonic with the premium gin first, complete with plenty of ice, topped with tonic and garnished with grapefruit. This was a juniper-led, clean and crisp serve with a perfect garnish as grapefruit is my fave! Next up, I went with a serve recommended from Agnes Arber's website, where the rhubarb gin was topped with ginger ale and a grapefruit wheel offering a different taste experience. I looked around for other serves on social media and came across the rhubarb gin with a raspberry and rose soda, garnished with raspberries. Now, this was delicious, so I had two serves! Finally, I tried the pineapple gin. On the nose I was already smitten, so sweet and summery. Although a ginger ale was recommended, I decided to go against it and top it with tonic, plenty of ice and a garnish of lime. An amazing serve, one to have again and again.
