Autumn encompassed in a box of doughnuts
Yum, yum, yum! That is all I could say about the new autumn doughnuts at Crosstown. It is not my first time trying their products. I have been tempted by their doughnuts, quite a few times.
As always, I am looking forward to taking you with me on this sweet, sweet journey! I was lucky to visit Crosstown at their new and fantastic shop at Battersea power station. This shop is uniquely designed and fitted into a truck. It is neatly tucked into one of the corners of the shopping centre, which makes it even easier to find. One of the added bonuses of the location is the open-space coffee shop. It resembles the ambience of busy coffee shops in central Paris. It is further reinforced by the high-quality coffee they offer. The hustle and bustle make it an ideal place to pick up a coffee and a few of their doughnuts. I was extremely lucky to secure one box of their amazing autumn-themed doughnuts. The box had two Double chocolate truffles, two Pumpkin Cakes and two Spiced Pumpkin doughnuts. That was just autumn in a box! Of the three doughnuts, the Spiced Pumpkin was my favourite one. It had a surprise waiting for me at each bite. Especially when you get a bite with some of the custard and some of the crumble! The most surprising one was the Dark Chocolate Truffle! It was extremely chocolate rich, without the "guilty sweet feeling". After indulging in the amazing doughnuts, I couldn't resist some additional indulgences. That is why I took one of the oat cookies for the road and spoiled myself with some ice cream. For the size of their shop, they had a huge range of ice cream. As always, the most tempting was the strawberry. It was just a great finishing touch for my visit. Personally, the journey to the new Crosstown shop at Battersea Power Station was way worth it! The ambience took me back to Central Europe, the coffee was amazing, but the doughnuts are what made this all amazing!
