Still floating on cloud WINE after an omakase experience to RAMEN-ber. I’m honestly still in awe that I was able to try out @pasta__ramen - an exclusive, invite-only restaurant headed by the James Beard nominated Chef @robbiefelice.
Their Wafu-Italian omakase features ten beautifully curated courses that emphasize a modern fusion approach towards traditional Italian and Japanese flavors, ingredients, and noodles. Currently, their omakase experience runs at $295 per person, and is only available in Los Angeles until November 13th. Course Menu: Kaiseki Injected burrata Cacio e pepe gyoza fritti Ponzu kanpachi Sesame uni ramen carbonara Truffle porcini ramen Sesame ricotta caratelli Smoked black cod In house dry aged Japanese A5 wagyu Sesame ricotta panna cotta Personally, I was blown away by @pasta__ramen ’s fun, modern take on the omakase concept, which featured hip music, sake pairings, and interactions with Chef Robbie himself. I definitely admired how @pasta__ramen was able to demonstrate a culinary appreciation for traditional Japanese and Italian cuisine (as well as some of my favorite ingredients such as truffle, uni, caviar, yellowtail, and of course, pasta and ramen!), while introducing hip, innovative and carefully curated dishes with unique flavors that I haven’t been able to try anywhere else. While I’m definitely a little bit bummed that their pop-up in Los Angeles is coming to an end next week, I am super thankful that I was able to try this truly once in a lifetime omakase experience, and I would highly recommend checking @pasta__ramen out if you have the chance!
