We all love a good gin don’t we? And the colonsay bramble gin ticks all the boxes and not because it is from Scotland. (Scotland has a piece of my heart) The packaging and presentation of this gin are really eye-catching. When you pour the gin into the glass even though it is red it is clear, there is no haze and doesn’t appear dull. The taste wasn’t too bitter as you can get with some gins. Very fruity and you can taste bramble and also smell it when you’re pouring it into the glass. I had mine with lemonade as that’s usually what I have when I’m drinking gin, but as recommended by the creators you can also have it neat, with champagne or Prosecco or try it with Elderflower tonic. As everyone is getting ready for Christmas and thinking about what to gift their friends and family I can highly recommend that this would make a lovely Christmas present. Another thing I liked about the presentation is that Wild thyme spirits included some history of bramble and that it was famously used for treating gout, and that the fruit has medicinal properties that date back 200 years. Also, they have a gin getaway for gin lovers, which is located between the islands of Islam and Mull. Two-and-a-half-hour ferry from Oban. I love visiting Scotland but this is a part I haven’t explored so I am now off to try and persuade my fiancée that we need a trip to the Island of Colonsay!
