A fancy afternoon tea experience

On Friday, we’ve had the pleasure to enjoy a Royal Afternoon Tea at Rubens Hotel with my daughter.

From the very beginning, we felt very welcomed and like princesses, their service was second to none. The place is beautiful and elegant, overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace. The decor, in a rich red it gives the place a very luxurious feel. I also do judge a place by how clean the bathrooms are I must say I was impressed, high standards of not only cleanliness but decorations and attention to detail. Rubens Hotel staff are all dressed in a beautiful, formal uniform and are all very friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented and delicious. I very much enjoyed their version of the coronation chicken sandwich. Scones were very nice, warm, as buttery as you like and so fresh, I’ve enjoyed every bite. Each of the cakes presented was like a surprise, so tasty. I truly didn’t know which one to start with. My favourite was the bright red eclair, it was not only great to look at but very delicious too. I was very impressed with how the waitress treated Matilda, just like a little Royal Princess, she was really happy when they kindly offered her sweets from their gorgeous-looking sweet jars. She was overjoyed with the selection and we both shared the treats. We’ve had a fantastic time and I’m looking forward to also taking my eldest daughter for their Little Royal Princess afternoon tea at Rubens Hotel.
