I am a gin enthusiast and part of my obsession is Gin Subscription Clubs; I have done and still do a lot of subscriptions. For some reason, the Secret Garden Gin Club hasn’t been one I have tried until now, and wow I have been really impressed and blown away with the presentation.

The Secret Gin Club ties into the founder’s ethos of respecting nature, creativity and showcasing the power and beauty of botanicals whilst operating sustainably. Each monthly subscription box features a unique, limited edition 20cl/200ml gin created especially for Club members. (In my January Box this was a Nettle Gin) As well as a 5cl/50ml sample room gin), the perfect mixer and a delicious garnish, hand-picked from the Secret Herb Garden. Each monthly box costs £25 which includes free delivery and content related to the delivery on their exclusive Facebook group “The Secret Garden Hive” You can purchase subscription boxes as you go or as a one-off purchase and I think this would make the perfect gift for the gin lover in your life. A truly unique present that is not available in any shops. The subscription boxes can also be set up for monthly, bi-monthly or for a number of months. You are able to skip, pause or cancel your gin club membership at any time via an online customer account. The subscription box itself is all sustainable packaging and is elegant and beautifully designed, unlike the normal ugly plain cardboard bulky subscription deliveries I usually receive. When I received my Secret Garden Gin Club box I was blown away with how beautifully presented it was and it truly felt like a special delivery. Each Gin featured in the monthly subscriptions is handcrafted from herbs and botanicals grown at the Secret Garden Distillery, where they are hand-harvested, dried naturally and crafted by the Secret Garden team. Each month is dedicated to the season, with the June box focussed on the start of the summer with Raspberry Ripple Gin and the January box featuring Nettle Gin. The possibilities are endless as the Secret Garden has over 600 herbs and plants which can be distilled into unique flavour forward ginny delights. The 5cl Sample Room Gin in the monthly boxes are taken from the head distiller's Sample Room, where all the botanical magic happens and are exclusively available to Gin Club members. Each month the garnishes are selected by the head gardener, Hamish and distiller, Mark to complement each month's gin and create the perfect serve. These garnishes are handpicked from the secret garden. The exclusive Facebook Group the Secret Garden Hive, shares exclusive content, posts monthly videos to coincide with the Gin Club deliveries that talk you through the wonderful Gins as well as posting regularly post content. Hamish Martin, Founding Director In 2012, Husband and wife team Hamish and Liberty Martin bought an abandoned and unloved area of land outside Edinburgh with the dream plan to create a green space that allowed people to wander freely and enjoy the subtle magic that nature has to offer. This dream quickly became the extensive and incredible Secret Garden. Within the garden, no chemicals are used and the botanicals and herbs are selected for their medicinal qualities. The garden is now home to an impressive 600 varieties of plants. Hamish took the decision to distil a unique range of gins to showcase the magic of nature and the incredible flavours that can be created. The Secret Garden distil to a flavour optimum of 39% abv in their two copper stills – Violet and May. The gin making process is a hands-on process, botanicals are hand-harvested and dried naturally to ensure the highest quality. They are distilled, hand-bottled and labelled on-site. The Secret Garden gin range is varied from traditional London Dry styles to more contemporary compounded gins. All the gins are 100% natural; with no artificial sugars, colourings or flavourings.
