The Cocktail Man

The perfect kit for anyone to be able to shake and serve high quality, top bar, professional mixologist worthy cocktails at home! No trying to balance sweet and sour flavours or spend ages researching perfect cocktail recipes and trying to purchase elusive ingredients.

Even the garnish is provided so essentially all you need is ice and maybe something straightforward such as citrus fruit or some soda. This elegant and classy box contains enough ingredients to make 4 posh cocktails. Two each for you and someone special or enough for a mini cocktail party. The box I was sent contained ingredients to make "The Green Grocer Highball". This is a whisky-based cocktail that uses 12-year-old Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky. Along with the base spirit, the kit contains a bottle of Sliqueur. Sliqueur is the genius creation of James Vyse aka The Cocktail Man and is the secret ingredient that balances flavour and aroma by combining syrup and liqueur. In my box, the Sliqueur is flavoured by wonky Brambley apples, the inspiration behind this cocktail. A sophisticated and well-designed menu card with full instructions is included. Detail includes a suggestion for glassware and it is straightforward and simple to follow. A delightful touch is the included vintage looking picture postcard. The message is from The Cocktail Man himself sharing the inspiration behind the drink and an image of what I imagine is the old brick distillery. Despite whisky not being my favourite spirit I was not disappointed at all by the cocktail I shook from the box I was sent. On the website, you can select a box to serve a particular cocktail and there is also the option to fully personalize the cocktail experience. This is done by allowing customers to create their own cocktail kit by choosing each component of their box, this includes, spirits, Sliqueur mix (there are 96 different flavours), then garnish, personalised postcard, and the option to name their own menu. Sliqueur is also available to purchase in larger bottles so if you like the service you can buy more and continue to impress your guests and shake up a treat at home. In my opinion, this box is fit for complete cocktail shaking beginners as well as those with more experience. The exceptional standard of presentation, as well as the quality of the contents, makes this a decadent treat for yourself but also a fabulous gift to send!
