Turn your garden into a cocktail bar

Thanks to Covid-19, we've reviewed more than our fair share of cocktail delivery boxes. We've enjoyed them all. But our most recent delivery from Edmunds Cocktails really stands out.

Unpacking the box was like unpacking our own personal cocktail bar. You'd expect to find the cocktails, sure, and maybe a few garnishes. But the folks at Edmunds supply you with EVERYTHING you need to have a little party at home: the shaker, the strainer, and 3 perfect glasses. One each for your martinis, your margaritas and your highballs. We got to sample six lovely cocktails, each beautifully bottled: A kumquat martini - a heady mix of kumquat liqueur and tequila An amaretto sour - a classic, for sure, but for a reason and Edmunds does it justice An espresso martini - cool and velvety, without being sickly-sweet A cosmopolitan - not normally my thing, but I found this version to be very light and fresh A lychee martini - a classic vodka martini with an Oriental twist An old-fashioned - strong and smooth, just like my husband We also got a packet of cute little garnishes, like dried fruit slices and edible flowers and coffee beans. The only thing missing was INSTRUCTIONS. I mean, how hard is it to shake, pour and serve, right? It would've just been nice to know which garnish went with which drink, since the pictures in the accompanying booklet didn't reflect the garnishes we received. But honestly, such a small complaint and you can see that we did alright for ourselves! The cocktails were sublime. And powerful. Our experience with pre-packaged cocktails is that they’re…okay. For the long, long months when we couldn’t enjoy a night out, a night in with a bottled cocktail would do the trick. But it wasn’t until we tried Edmunds Cocktails that we found tipples-in-a-bottle could be as elevated as those we happily pay £15 for in London. After the long winter we just endured, I couldn't imagine a better way to spend our first full Sunday in the garden.
